| About the Music |
| The artist, Ann Mortifee - October 14, 1999 |
|
| There are many deaths before
the final letting go. My dear friend, David Feinstein, a psychologist and author, who had
been using my music with his clients for several years, came to me and said that he felt
that I should create a CD for people facing death. It was at a time in my life when I
myself was in a 'dark night of the soul' and the creation of 'Serenade at the Doorway'
took me on a deep and wonderful excursion through the realm of loss, love and healing. It
became my own passageway through. Although the original urge was to give voice to some of
the emotions and insights that can be a part of the journey of facing death, 'Serenade at
the Doorway' has taken on a life of its own. I have received letters from people all over
the world who have said that it came as a blessing into their lives at an important moment
of transition. Whether we are being asked to let go of a dream, a relationship, a way of
being, or of life itself, the journey carries many of the same demands. It is my prayer
that 'Serenade at the Doorway' be a source of inspiration and a companion for anyone who
finds themself on the path of transformation.
